Supporting our
rural community

Driven by Community. Grounded in Purpose.

The Upper Clutha A&P Society is here to support, promote, and celebrate the rural heart of our region. Best known for organising the Wānaka A&P Show, we bring together people, ideas, and traditions — showcasing the very best of agricultural life, local innovation, and community spirit.

Through events, grants, and partnerships, we aim to strengthen the future of the rural Upper Clutha — supporting leadership, connection, and sustainability across generations. Whether you’re a competitor, exhibitor, volunteer, or visitor, you’re part of something bigger here: a community that values where we come from and what we grow together.

Our History

The Upper Clutha A&P Show traces its roots back to 1895, with its first event held in Cromwell and a long journey since to its home in Wānaka. From early beginnings, wartime pauses, and reformations, to Royal Events and national milestones, the Show has grown into one of New Zealand’s most iconic rural celebrations.
